Romantic Tango

I've been a fan of Mayzy Green for a while and was excited to see her new online shop. I've been searching for some more "adult" Valentine images and thought this one fit the bill nicely:

Supplies: Romantic Tango (Mayzy Art), red and white dp (Paper Studio),
Copics, rhinestones (Michaels), Steel Grey Metallic cs (Paper and More), and
Cherry Red and Black premium weight cs (Paper and More).

Here's a closeup of the paper I used from Paper and More. Isn't it gorgeous? I especially love the sparkliness of the Steel Grey Metallic paper.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Mayzy Art - Romance
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Hiding In My Craft Room - Valentines Day

That's my last Valentine card for now, but scroll down to see more Valentines Day card ideas.

Let's Dance!

Welcome to another Totally Papercrafts challenge! Our hostess this weekend, Sue, has chosen the theme of "Let's Dance". Our sponsors this week are Bugaboo Stamps and J&C Creations. Bugaboo generously offered us some images to use on our cards and I chose this cutie, JJ Tequila and Shoes - Birthday.

Let's party! Check out the other DT members' cards for some great inspiration and then join us in this week's fun challenge at Totally Papercrafts! You could win a great prize from one of our TWO sponsors!

Sweet Magnolia

It's been a long time since I played along with a Magnolia challenge. This week I decided to play along with not one by two Magnolia challenges! So, I dusted off my favorite Tilda and made this card:

Supplies: Standing Fall Tilda (Magnolia), blue star digital paper (DigiStamp Boutique), taupe swirl dp (Tim Holtz 12X12 pad), grey swirl dp (Creative Memories), Ivory cs (Papertrey Ink), markers, chunky glitter (Martha Stewart), snowflake embellishments (Jolee's), foam snowflake (Michaels) and ribbon (Michaels).

The color scheme came from the wintery Inspiration Challenge on the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Here's the inspiration picture:

I am also entering my card into the "Anything Goes" challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites. Thanks to hostess Cheryl Rowley for picking an easy theme for this challenge! I may just have to join their "All You Need is Love" blog hop, as well!

Lastly, I am entering this card into the current MilkCoffee Challenge - Snowflakes/Snow plus Sparkle and/or Glitter.

This is my second card/post for the day. Whew! I'll be back on Friday with a new card and a new challenge from the Totally Papercrafts Challenge blog!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

I was determined to spend some time this weekend having fun making cards. I just had to play along with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch! Not only is it a great sketch but it's sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique. Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

Supplies: Valentine Olivia and Simply Valentines Greetings (DSB), heart and swirl dp (Bo Bunny), hot pink heart dp (Paper Studio), heart brads (Recollctions - Michaels), Copics and red organdy ribbon (Bags and Bows)

Isn't this little kitty just too adorable? She's Offer of the Month - Valentine Olivia. The sentiment is from another Offer of the Month - Simply Valentines Greetings.  I love having sentiments all ready to just print off and add to my card!

If you hurry, it's not too late to play along with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge. The challenge closes at 7 PM (MST) tonight (Tuesday). You could win your choice of 6 digi images from the DigiStamp Boutique store!

Sweet!

There's so many sweet things about my card today... It's sweet that I had time to make a card this weekend. (I've actually posted two cards this week - yahoo!) There's plenty of pink in my card. (A sweet color!) And this little Sugar Nellie stamp is sweet, too! (She's Sent with Love from Funky Kits.)

Suplies: Sent with Love (Sugar Nellie), Almanac Collection 6X6 pad (Prima), butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), Copics, pewter heart brads, vintage seam binding (Ribbon Carousel), self-adhesive rhinestone (Michaels), black cs.

I'm entering her into the following challenges:
Flutterby Wednesday - Anything Goes (must have butterfly or fairy)
Oozak - Anything Goes with Pink and Bling
The Sugar Bowl - Anything Goes (must use Sugar Nellie image)
Inky Chicks - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - Spotty!

Back to work tomorrow (boo!). Hope to find some stamping time in there somewhere...

Welcome to the New Year!

The new year of challenges, that is! This year we're doing things a little differently at Totally Papercrafts. We've split up the design team into two teams (Teams A and B - how clever of us!) to give our members a little more time between challenges. And we've sponsored two sponsors for almost every challenge this year. Yay! That means two chances every week for participants to win a cool prize from one of our wonderful sponsors! :)

It's my turn to host this week. I chose a ribbon theme in honor of our sponsor, Ribbon Carousel. Just use ribbon somewhere on your project to play along with our challenge! (Do you like my ribbon? It's actually vintage seam binding that I bought from The Ribbon Carousel.) Our other sponsor this week is the fab DigiStamp Boutique and I chose one of DSB's adorable teddies from the Louie Love Set.

Supplies: Louie Love Set (DSB), ivory vintage seam binding (Ribbon Carousel), red swirl dp (K&Co), pink heart dp (Bo Bunny), pewter heart brads (Oriental Trading), Copics, kraft cs, charcoal pencil and blender.

I experimented with a new shading technique that I saw on the There She Goes blog: Shading with Pastel Chalk Pencils. I definitely need to practice it some more, but I like how much depth it added to my image.

Give Me Mo' Stamping Time!

I spent last night getting crafty and it felt so good! There are several "anything goes" challenges going on right now (my favorite when I'm pressed for time), so I decided to play along with the current "Anything Goes" challenge on Mo Manning's DP2 Challenge blog. I bought this image *ages* ago and never used her. This is going to be a birthday card for my friend Pam - the inside will read "We may be a year older, but we don't have to like it! Happy Birthday!".

Supplies:  "Two Jill" (My Manning), Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky 6X6 pad (My Minds Eye), ribbon, Copics. Layout: Sketch SC241 from SplitCoastStampers.

Have a great day! I'll see you again on Friday with a totally new challenge from Totally Papercrafts!

Next Holiday Please!

Well, another Christmas and New Years'  have come and gone. Hope your holidays were happy ones! Now that the presents have been unwrapped, the stockings have been "unhung", etc, I wanted to get started on cards for the next holiday - Valentines Day! Fortunately, Sally-Ann has some great new Valentines images in the DigiStamp Boutique store. My youngest daughter *loves* all things owl, so I chose this cute little guy from the Simply Valentines A4 - Cute collection. I don't have a lot of Valentines papers, so I decided to use one of the Heartfelt Papers along with a great little stripey print from the Wintertime Coffee papers set.

Brown and pink is one of my favorite color combinations and this image is just perfect for it! Other supplies include ribbon (Michaels), fake "Dew Drops" (Michaels), Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen, kraft cs, pop-dots, brown CS (PTI) and Ranger's Glossy Accents. I admit that since I bought those Glossy Accents, I've been having fun finding excuses to use it. It's such a quick and easy way to add texture to your card! I put some Glossy Accents on the hearts - you can see it a little better in this closeup:

I love the sentiment that comes with this little owl. So sweet and it made putting the card together that much quicker and easier!

I'll see you later this week with another DSB card. DigiStamp Boutique is sponsoring the Totally Papercrafts challenge this Friday! :)
