Springtime Anya

There was a sketch challenge over on the Club Anya blog. The half circle in the sketch made me think of a hill, so I thought Anya would look cute standing in a field of flowers on a hill. She's as ready for spring as I am!


I made the sky background by cutting a cloud shape out of cardstock and sponging around it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans (love that color!). Here's a closeup of the label style tag:

I made this tag with my Marvy Uchida tag punch. After punching the tag, I turned it around and placed it back into the punch (notched end aligned with the bottom of the punch) to make the notched design on the other end. I'll have to put up a short tutorial soon. The butterfly is just a plain punch embellished with glitter. (I used a black scrapbooking pen to color in his body.)

The Case of the Curious Card

In this case (no pun intended), it's the CASE of the curious card. CASE as in "Copy And Steal Everything". It's not as sinister as it sounds - it's actually a complimentary term stampers and scrappers use when they get inspiration from another crafter's work. :)

The Greeting Farm hosted a challenge asking people to CASE this card. Here's my version:


I used my digital stamp, Dorothy Anya. I used the layout and the fall colors as my inspiration. Spring is my favorite season, but I love making cards with fall colors!

Challenge cards

I made two cards this weekend for blog challenges. Here's my card for this week's House Mouse Sketch Challenge:


Supplies: Cherries Jubilee (Mudpie) House Mouse stamp, red designer paper from Stampin' Up, Ivory cardstock from TAC, COPIC markers, Spica glitter pen in clear.

I got to use two of my new COPIC markers on this card, Cardinal Red and Brick Beige. I'm so glad I have some good "House Mouse colors" now. (I used Brick Beige, Sand, Skin White and Blush on Mudpie.) I think these images look best and are easiest to color with markers.

I'd been eyeing the Anyas for a while, so this was all the incentive I needed to buy one of their digital images. Instant gratification - gotta love it! Anya is SO much fun to color with my COPIC markers! I love coloring hair. (Probably sounds weird, but I really do.) Here are some close ups:
