Joe - Cheeky and Geeky

Even though boy images are not usually my thing (I have two daughters and love pink), I really love the new Joe images from DigiStamp Boutique. First up is my "geeky Joe" - Joe the bookworm. I just love his little wormy friend. :)

Supplies: Joe the Bookworm (DSB), Check Him Out DP (My Minds Eye),
alphabet twill tape (The Ribbon Carousel), star buttons (Jesse James),
Glossy Accents (Ranger), sewing machine, Copic markers.

Here's a close up. I used some Ranger Glossy Accents to give his glasses some "lenses". I think accenting masculine cards is really hard, so I like to add texture with things like stitching and Glossy Accents. I'm really proud of myself for mastering sewing on my cards. (My sewing machine doesn't get much action other than cardmaking. Let's just say I'm not known for being overly domestic.)

I'm entering Joe into Papertake Weekly's One Paper Taker challenge as well as Shopping Our Stash's Text or Letters challenge. (I bought this alphabet twill from The Ribbon Carousel when they were discontinuing their ribbon sales. I had completely forgotten about it until I cleaned up my craft space to work on this card!)

Next up is "cool dude Joe" from the offer of the month - Joe collection. I think Joe earned some free time after all of that studying, don't you? He certainly looks mighty sure of himself on that skateboard!

Supplies: Joe and sentiment (DSB), Mama-Razzi dp (Bo Bunny), Bracket
border punch (EK Success), kraft  cs (TAC), ivory cs (PTI) and Copic markers.

Absolutely brilliant Lisa...the colours are superb - stitching looks fab too, as do his glossy glasses. I adore them! Stunning :)

Both little "Joes" are adorable, but my fave has to be the bookworm. So bright with the colored image a perfect focal point. TFS!
