Krafty Bowl Challenge #2 - Something Old

It's my second post of the day with my entry into another Krafty Bowl Challenge - "Something Old".

Supplies: Eleanor (KK), Traditions 6X6 pad (Carte Bella) ,
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen (Ranger),
leaf die (Memory Box), buttons (Jessie James),
kraft and brown cs and flowers from stash.

This card fills the "old" requirement several ways. The kraft cardstock I used is from my Angel (TAC) days and the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp I used - Eleanor - has been retired. (Although she's still on the website, so perhaps you can go and grab her if she's still available.) But primarily, Eleanor always made me think of this picture of my grandparents, Ed and Evelyn.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Make It Monday - anything goes
Penny's Challenges - something old and something new (the dp is new)
Crafty Girls Challenges - anything goes
CMC Copic Challenges - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Loves Rubber Stamps - anything goes

Krafty Bowl Challenge #1 - It's Ma Birthday!

I am not a fan of the Superbowl, but I am a long time fan of Kraftin' Kimmie, so I was excited to see that Kimmie was hosting several special challenges on Superbowl Sunday. Here's the first of my entries - it's for the first Krafty Bowl challenge - "It's Ma Birthday", in honor of Kimmie's birthday.

I used this cute Lisette stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie. She's retiring, so if you like her, grab her while you can.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Make It Monday - anything goes
Pile It On - use ribbon
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

Happy 300, Mojo Monday!

The Mojo Monday blog is celebrating their 300th sketch with lots of great prizes from lots of great sponsors. This is the special sketch:

The sketch was so much fun, I had to make two different cards. First up, Lavender the Quilter from Kraftin' Kimmie:

Of course, I had to include some stitching on her card. :) I really like these MME papers and I thought their fabric-like patterns were perfect for a quilting themed card. Kim, owner of Kraftin' Kimmie is also offering her own prize to celebrate Mojo Monday, so I'll be linking my card up over on the Kraftin Kimmie blog, as well.

And here's another card with Arthur mouse from DigiStamp Boutique:

Isn't he sweet? I had so much fun coloring him.

Two cards in one day - it's been a long time since I managed that one! I really liked this sketch and will definitely use it again.

One Krafty Card

I was so excited when Kimmie decided to celebrate KK's 2nd birthday with the chance to be a Krafty Girl! Even one day earning a spot as a guest designer would put me over the moon! Deciding to play along with the challenge was the easy part. Choosing my favorite KK stamp was the hard part! Which to choose? The graceful Bird Fairy?  The swimmingly beautiful Arianna? Wild and wacky Charlotte? Beach beauty Eleanor? Too many favorites – only one contest! So, I had to go with my heart and pick my sentimental favorite - Eleanor. Eleanor has always made me think of my Nana, Evelyn.

I created this card using the current Kraftin Kimmie challenge – Monochromatic. Like Kimmie herself, I did sneak a little blue into my card. While creating my card, I stumbled across these beautiful Madeline papers from Prima that I had purchased a while ago. They were perfect for the vintage look I was going for and nicely accented the flowers in Eleanor's swim cap.
The coloring on this card is, admittedly, quite different from my usual style. I was inspired by this Faux Charcoal tutorial from the Deconstructing Jen site. It made me think of this photo of my grandparents when they were young:
(I joke that my grandfather had better legs than my grandmother, lol!)
Whether I make the KK team or not, I had a lot of fun making this card. :)

The Office

I hope you had a relaxing Labor Day! Ironically, one of the things I did on my day out of the office was to participate in the Kraftin' Kimmie "Let's Go to the Office!" challenge. :) We had to use a paper clip or other office supply in our project. (I used a spiral shaped paper clip.)

I love, love, love this KK Bird Fairy stamp! It doesn't show up in the picture, but I used glitter on her wings. She came out so nice and sparkly! Her little bird friend is just the cutest, isn't he?

See you tomorrow evening for a Fab Friday post!
