Birthday Boy!

Long time, no blog! It's been a time of major changes in the Thompson household. DH and I are just wrapping up the first week of our new jobs with new work hours. And my usual photo taking spot has been turned into his home office, so I'm trying out new spots in the house for photo taking. I took this week's card featuring DigiStamp Boutique's adorable Owen in my dining room. Not great, so the hunt for a new photo taking spot continues...

I'm entering Owen into the following challenges:
Cards 4 Guyz - Fathers Day
Clear It Out - Fathers Day / stars

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Cool Mojo!

I managed to get two more challenge cards done this weekend - Yay me! :)

The first card is a combination of TGF's FFF color challenge and this Mojo Monday's Sketch 177.

Supplies: Anya (The Greeting Farm), Raspberry Fizz cs (PTI), Mediterranean Summer dp (TCP Studio), scalloped square die (Nestabilities), ribbon (Michaels), sentiment (TAC), brown dp (CM), Copics, pearls (Recollections) and flower (Prima).

Next up, this card combines the sketch from CPS205 and the Cool Color challenge (#43) from Copic Creations:

Supplies: Teddy with Flowers (LOTV), ribbon (Michaels), Copics, digital sentiment stamp (DSB), scallop punch (CM) and papers from my stash.

Wow, two cards and four challenges - not bad for a Sunday. :)

Light as a Feather...

I saw this challenge on the Copic Creations blog and had to participate for a chance to win that awesome set of Copic markers! The mistress of Copics herself, Marianne Walker, has a very helpful feather blending tutorial on her blog. My blending didn't come out nearly as nicely as hers, but it was a fun technique to try.

Sweet Melinda

OK, well actually the song title is "Sweet Melissa" (by the Allman Brothers), but in this case, it's sweet Melinda - "Melinda Blowing Kisses" by Whiff of Joy. (The stamp company, not a band. lol) I am (impatiently) awaiting my recent order of Whiff of Joy stamps so I used one of the images that my friend Diana so kindly shared with me. :-)

Of course, this is another multi-challenge card! :) This one incorporates the Whiff of Joy Challenge #37 (use 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon); Copic Colour Challenge #20 (colors: E47 Dark Brown and YG23 New Leaf - I used E37 Sepia and YG03 Yellow Green and YG06 Yellowish Green); and, A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #59 (hearts - mine are on the Basic Grey pink paper and in my image).

A Very Challenging Card

Too many fun challenges, too little stamping time! I managed to make this card do triple duty. I used this week's great sketch from the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog, the pink & brown color scheme from the Simon Says Challenge blog and two of the colors in the Copic Colour Challenge blog. Whew!

I used my "Willow with Cocoa" Whiff of Joy stamp to satisfy that requirement for the WOJ challenge. For the Copic color challenge, I had to use "close enough" colors - Y21 Buttercream Yellow and RV10 Pale Pink and RV13 Tender Pink instead of the called for Y23 Yellowish Beige and RV11 Pink. (I like to use Y23 along with Y17 for blonde hair).

Oh, and guess what? I was the lucky winner in last week's Copic Colour Challenge! I won two cute stamps (Clive Cockran and Guiseppe the goat) from Toodles and Binks along with a couple of other goodies. Yay!

WOJ Fairy

This card combines two challenges: the Whiff of Joy challenge blog's requirement to use a charm and the color challenge on the Copic Colour Challenge blog.

I didn't have any of the exact Copic colors, so I used Y02 (instead of Y06), RV13 ad RV14 instead of RV11 and E39 instead of E37. The paper is from another new paper stack (darn all those paper sales lately! I am powerless to resist!) - Garden Party. I think it is by DCWV. I'm not sure which Whiff of Joy image this is - my friend Diana owns the stamp and stamped a few images off for me to use.

Tingla

I love my new Alva stamp from Magnolia! (Oops! I had originally called her Tingla. I couldn't change the title of the post since it's my link to the challenges. My kids will tell you that I am ver bad with names! I constantly call them by the other one's name!) She was perfect for the sketch on the Friday Sketchers blog. And, of course, I had to give her blond hair so we could play in Challenge #4 on the Copic Creations blog. :)

The green background paper is from a DCWV 12X12 "stack" - an autumn stack, believe it or not. (The pink paisley paper is from Michaels.) I used my Copic markers to color her in, of course. I really need to get a few more shades of green, but I find my Lime Green marker works a lot more often than I think it will. And, of course, I always have fun playing with my pink Copic markers. :-) Here I used Tender Pink and Blush.

Truly Colorful

This card combines two challenges. I love when I can do that! I combined the sketch challenge over on Truly Scrumptious and the color challenge over on the Copic Colour Challenge Blog. The sketch challenge also required the use of a handmade button. Long-forgotten shrink plastic to the rescue! I stamped a swirl design (TAC) using some Versamagic ink. I like how they turned out.

I didn't have anything too close to the colors in the Copic Challenge, so I used Lime Green, Canary Yellow and Mauve Shadow.

Supplies: Cup of Stuff stamp set (The Greeting Farm), CM circle cutter, retired TAC swirl and "Hello" stamps, COPIC markers, polyshrink, Versamagic ink, Palette Noir ink.

A Lacy Sketch?

What do you call a card that satisfies two challenges at once? (Besides a timesaver...) I made this card as part of the sketch challenge on the COPIC Color Challenge blog AND as part of the Lavender and Lace challenge on the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog.

I took a lot of liberties with the sketch (especially for me, who usually follows a sketch closely). The original sketch just wasn't working for me and I got tired of fighting it! So, my 3 little flowers took the place of the 3 squares in the original sketch.

Supplies: Martha Stewart lavendar cardstock, TAC Premium White cardstock, Palette Noir ink, Paper Shaper flower punch, Martha Stewart lace border punch, COPIC markers, Spica clear glitter pen, brads, flower (source unknown).

Color Challenge

Every week there is a color challenge on the COPIC Colour Challenge blog. This week's challenge used 3 COPIC colors that I didn't have, so I used two that I think are close. (I did manage to fit in a bit of red with my rhinestones.) Instead of B02, I used BG01 - Aqua Blue and instead of YG23, I used YG06 - Yellowish Green.

Supplies: Goodluckabella from Stamping Bella, printed paper from DCWV - Glitter Stack, K&Co rhinestones, COPIC markers, ribbon from HL.
