One Little Word

Fans of Ali Edwards are probably familiar with her "One Little Word", which is a word she selects every year to be a sort of "guide" for the year ("a word that I can focus on, mediate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life").

Well, after a lot of time & thought, I've chosen the word SIMPLICITY for 2008.

SIMPLICITY: freedom from difficulty or hardship or effort; freedom from complexity; absence of pretentiousness; clarity of expression.

Ways I'm applying simplicity to my life:
- Paring down my stamping/crafting supplies so they are easier to keep neat
- Learning to say "no" and not overscheduling myself or adding too many things to my To Do list.

What's your word going to be? If you need some inspiration, check this out:

A Taste of Spring

After several days of below normal (often below freezing) temps, the thermometer broke 50 degrees today. Oh, it was so nice to go outside without freezing! Dixie was happy because she got to go for a long walk. There's nothing sweetier (and goofier) than my dog when she's happy. She trots, her tail wagging a mile a minute, the joy evident throughout her whole body.

The warm weather inspired me to make this card, using the new Floral Favorites set (which has already become one of my favorites):

I also finished up a batch of these cards for a swap:

I love that little bunny. He's so cute!

I really need to stay away from those Split Coast Stampers (SCS) swap forums. ;-) I completed two swaps last night. One is a card for the Penguins, Penguins, Penguins swap. The other is an ATC (Artist Trading Card) for the PaperTrey/TAC swap. I had some problems uploading pictures, but here they finally are:

Welcome to my new blog! I've had one for a while at blogspirit (, but I needed something with better features, so here I am. :-)

I wanted a name for my new site that better reflected my blog's content - both the creative posts and the family/personal stuff. The "Paper" is my stamping and scrapbooking (both my personal papercrafting and for my business as a TAC demo). The "Pawprints" reflects the importance of animals in the life of my family. Our personal menagerie currently consists of one dog, one cat, one rabbit, one guinea pig and two snakes. My daughters and I volunteer at our local shelter, the Central Missouri Humane Society, and we are a foster family when the shelter is short on space, or an animal is ill or simply needs a break from the shelter environment.

I'm glad you found me. Please come back and visit as I add more content to my site!

P.S. That's my cat, Tiger, in the photo above. He was trying to hide from our foster puggle (because you know how scary a puggle is!) and thought my craft space was just the spot. :-)
