Birthday Boy

Even though I'm the proud mom of 2 girls, I am loving these new Josh images from DigiStamp Boutique! I'm having a lot of fun playing with bright colors that I don't normally use on my cards.

Supplies: Birthday Josh (DigiStamp Boutique), striped paper (The Paper Studio),
Dainty Dots digital paper (FunkyFairyPapercrafts.com), greeting
from Robots (The Angel Company), Copics, star punch, red cardstock (TAC),
other cardstock from my stash.

For my layout, I used a sketch 31 from one of my favorite blogs, Lord Have Mercy!

It's a really versatile sketch that you can really build on or use as is. I'm sure I'll be using this sketch again soon! (And, I forgot to mention that Saturday's card was based on one of Mercy's sketches, too!)

Happy Fall Y'All!

I just love the new fall collection of Rachelle Anne Miller stamps at PWCO! As busy as this week was, I just had to find time to play with more of the images that Peg sent me. I had fun digging through my folder of fall-themed paper scraps to come up with this card:

How do you like the real pumpkins in the background? Nice touch, no? I don't usually include props in my photos, but these were already on my front step (where I like to take my pictures in natural light). DH threw last year's pumpkins in the garden and they grew over the summer. We've actually had these pumpkins for a while - I'm not sure they're going to make it until Halloween!

Supplies: The Pumpkin Patch - RAM exclusive for PWCO, Prima flower, Basic Grey button, QuicKutz swirl die, Copic markers, PTI cardstock (base card), misc. paper scraps.

PWCO Card Kit Friday

OK, things are now finally starting to settle down just enough that I actually had time to really play with my September kit this week. Boy, did I have fun! :)

Although I'm not normally a big fan of plaid, I really love the plaid in this month's kit. It's not your typical plaid and it has so many gorgeous colors in it! (Including my beloved pink!) I love how the kit has so many different patterns that all coordinate with each other:

All three patterend papers, both colors of cardstock and the ribbon are ALL from this month's kit! Peg puts together some awesome kits that are such a great value!

Supplies: September PWCO card kit, Beary Best of Friends exclusive PWCO stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller, Copics.

WABAC Wednesday

If you were a fan of Rocky & Bullwinkle as a kid, you probably remember Sherman and Mr. Peabody. Somehow in every episode, Sherman allowed himself to follow Mr. Peabody into WABAC machine, which transported them back through time for yet another crazy adventure. (Which usually ended with with some awful pun from Mr. Peabody!) For this week's Wednesday with Wings, I'm hijacking the WABAC machine to bring you back a favorite card from the past.

The layout is simple, but this is still one of my favorite cards. I just love this little cow enjoying her cool drink while relaxing in her inner tube. It's been unseasonably warm here, but I know it won't last and I'll be missing summer very soon!

Supplies: "An 'Udder Birthday", "A Little Whimsy" paper pad, Lemonade Embellishment Jar, Pink Scrapper's Floss, black/pink/white cardstock and Prismacolor pencils.

Bookish Boys Who 'Board

I just LOVE this new image, Josh with Skateboard, from Sally-Ann's DigisStamp Boutique shop. (There's also a Pirate Josh and a Birthday Josh that you can find here.)

I am making bookmarks to sell at the Hatton craft show next month. I have lots of cute girly images but didn't have many boy stamps. I knew this new image would look great on a bookmark and it gave me a great excuse to use this fun new paper that I found at Hobby Lobby. :)

Happy Birthday, Baby!

Why do I scrapbook? Because suddenly, this face....

becomes this one:

OMG she is looking so grown up. How did 12 years go by that fast?

Without scrapbooking, I would forget that Alison's first encounter with our dog did not go well...

"One minute Alison was relaxing in her Nana's arms... Then, out of nowhere came a big furry thing with a cold nose! It was NOT love at first sight!"

or that the pediatrician once declared her the loudest baby in the nursery (although I certainly do not forget how loud she was, lol!):
"Mom came to meet Alison the next morning. Alison decided to show off her lung power. (That morning the pediatrician said he thought she was the loudest baby in the nursery!)"

And through it all (pregnancy complaints, birth stories, sleepless nights, etc.) was a wonderful bunch of ladies whom I'm proud to still call my friends, the Sept98Moms.
Ali and I met a few of the other Sept98Moms and babies in March of 1999

I had a lot of fun scanning in a few pages from Ali's baby scrapbook. Click on the photo below to see more pages from her baby scrapbook.

PWCO Fall Release

At night, when you’re asleep in your bed, do visions of skeletons dance in your head? If so, you’re a big fan of Halloween just like my family! I was sooo happy when I found out that I got to design a card with this cute new Halloween image from the oh-so-talented Rachelle Anne Miller. I had a lot of fun playing designing this card. After I colored in the image, I masked the owl and tree and sponged charcoal and navy blue inks on my image to create this dark & scary sky. I think it came out pretty cool!

Materials Used:
  • Stamps - PWCO /RAM Exclusive – Happy Owl-O-Ween
  • Paper –  Cosmo Cricket Snorkel – Carbonation, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love – Repeat, black cardstock
  • Ink – Memento Black, Copics
  • Accessories: yellow rhinestone (Studio 18), Palette Ink in Charcoal and Distress Ink in Faded Jeans
Check out the rest of the Rachelle Anne Miller Fall release at the PWCO store and blog!

Since my PWCO boss, Peg, has so nicely given me the day off from posting, I decided to share a "Fab Friday" with you all instead! I came across these free printable templates today:

Pretty cool, n'est pas? I'm going to try making some of the stocking stuffer gift card holders for the upcoming Hatton craft show.

If you don't have plans this evening, please join us in the PWCO chat room for the latest Rachelle Anne Miller stamp release. It's going to be a blast! :) Check out the blog for details.

Wednesday with Wings

This week's card features the Window Box Wonder (T3344, $19.95) set. (I posted another card made with this same set a few weeks ago.)

This stamp set has a lot of different components, as you can see by looking at the two cards. I had a lot of fun making the "siding" for this house by scoring some Ivory cardstock with my Scor-Pal. I also did A LOT of paper piecing, which doesn't show up in the photo. (I took this picture a little too late in the day, I think.)

Supplies: Window Box Wonder (T3344, $19.95), TAC Ivory and Scarlet cardstocks, Palette Noir ink, Copics, Scor-Pal, DCWV brown cardstock, large scallop scissors.

The Latest Happenings at DigiStamp Boutique

If you haven't visited the DigiStamp Boutique store lately, be sure to go and check out this month's fun new releases!

Check back later this week for some new card samples using these adorable new images!

Quick Kit Cuteness

I have been working a ton of extra hours so I needed this week's card to be super quick. And that's the thing I love about kits - everything's already coordinated so you can just get down to making something and you know everything will look good together.

Everything except for the card base (which you can't see) and the yellow flower are ALL from this month's kit!  I used 2 different patterned papers, a strip of brown cardstock and used one of sparkly big brads to create this super quick but super cute card!

Be sure to visit the PaperWorks Co store to check out more of the kit!

Technical Difficulties

This week's Wednesday with Wings is late due to technical difficulties - if too many people and only 1 computer counts as technical difficulties. ;-) I think our next family purchase is going to be a second computer. Competing for computer time with 1 teen and 1 pre-teen is not pretty! lol!

Customers frequently ask me how to use all the great little tags that come with many of The Angel Company's papers. I had to admit I wasn't a big user of the tags so I designed a card that specifically used a tag. This card features two tags from the Willoughby Soar With It Collection:

All supplies by TAC.
Paper: Willoughby SWIC, Bazzill cardstock, TAC Kraft and Brown cardstocks,
Other: Palette Burnt Umber ink, Amelia ribbon, button from Blossoms & Button kit

Wednesday With Wings

First, let me apologize for not posting a card last Wednesday! We recently went back to school and it has been crazy! When I am home, I'm too tired & too mentally wiped out to do anything. I'm soooo looking forward to a long holiday weekend!

Supplies: Window Box Wonder (T3344, $19.95) and More Mimi (V-855) and Kraft cs (V-244).
Colored in with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils with odorless mineral spirits.
