With Love, Abi

Hey! I'm back with a new DigiStamp Boutique card featuring Abi, a current offer of the month. Isn't she adorable?

Supplies: Abi and sentiment (DSB), Lime Twist 6X6 pad (MME), flowers (Prima),
small pearls (Hobby House), butterfly punch (MS), cs and brads from my stash.

Trying a Tri-Shutter Card

I recently bought my first Yumi and Fumi stamps and couldn't wait to use on in the current challenge - Multiple Folds. I had a lot of luck with my post-it note easel card so I decided to be brave and try a tri-shutter card.

Supplies: Yumi (Yumi and Fumi Handmade), Indie Chic - Saffron 6x6 pad (MME), flowers (from my stash), pearls (Recollections), Copic markers, pink and brown cs (Hobby Lobby).

Here's Yumi closeup. Isn't she adorable? I love her little hoodie. :)

I just bought the MME paper and the pearls last week and I was happy that I used them so quickly. (I am a bit of a hoarder!) I really love using paper pads for projects like this because you have a wealth of papers that all coordinate well.

Here's a overview shot so you can see what the card looks like unfolded.

Cool huh? It was actually pretty easy to put together thanks to the great tutorial that I found on Splitcoaststampers: Tri-Shutter Card.

I'm also entering my card into the "Brown, Pink and Gold" challenge on Come and Get It Challenges.

Well, so much for my super crafty weekend. This was the only card I made. :(  I'll be back on Friday with a card for the next Sister Act Card Challenge, though!

Operation Write Home

This is the second post of the day. If you're looking for my Totally Papercrafts post, please scroll down. Thanks! Yeah, Fridays can be busy days around here. :)

Like a lot of cardmakers, I have more cards than I can use so I like to donate cards to worthwhile organizations. I recently discovered a group called Operation Write Home and planned to donate some cards.  It was perfect when Resale Clipart sponsored the Sister Act Card Challenge this week and offered the DT this image to use:

Supplies: Army Boy Black (Resale Clipart), stripe dp (Bo Bunny), star die (Memory Box),
sentiment (Paper Studio), kraft/red/blue cs from stash.

I will say that it was a very odd experience for me to make a card that didn't require any coloring (or even stamping for that matter!). It was kind of nice to be able to put a card together so quickly, though.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Charisma Cards - Flag Colors (U.S.A.)
Songbird Challenges - Stars

Head on over to the Sister Act Card Challenge (SACC) to see what the rest of the DT is up to. Play along with our always anything goes challenge for your chance to win a prize from our sponsor, Resale Clipart!

Totally Papercrafts #163

TGIF! This has been a long week and I am *so* glad that it is Friday! I'm also glad to be bringing you a fun Totally Papercrafts challenge this week - Monochromatic. We are being sponsored this week by DigiStamp Boutique. I chose these lovely poppies from the Sketchy Flowers set.

Supplies: Sketchy Flowers (DSB), For Mum digi paper (DSB), diamond dp (Creative Memories),
ribbon (Michaels), pearls (Recollections), silver cs,
Aqua Lagoon pearlescent cs (Paper and More) and Copics.

I did include a few bits of accent color (yellow flower centers and a silver mat behind the flowers), but everything else is done in shades of aqua. The floral dp is actually a sort of "happy accident". It's from the "For Mum" digi-paper set and is supposed to be green. However, my color ink is low and it came out this lovely aqua blue instead.

I'm submitting my card into the following challenges:
Shelly's Images - April Showers Bring May FLOWERS
Rhedd and Rosies - Monochrome
Creative Moments - Spring (I'm assuming flowers count as a spring image)
Nutcrafters - Anything Goes

Hop on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog and check out the other DT monochromatic cards. Be sure to play along for a chance to win some digis from our fantastic sponsor, DigiStamp Boutique!

Joe - Cheeky and Geeky

Even though boy images are not usually my thing (I have two daughters and love pink), I really love the new Joe images from DigiStamp Boutique. First up is my "geeky Joe" - Joe the bookworm. I just love his little wormy friend. :)

Supplies: Joe the Bookworm (DSB), Check Him Out DP (My Minds Eye),
alphabet twill tape (The Ribbon Carousel), star buttons (Jesse James),
Glossy Accents (Ranger), sewing machine, Copic markers.

Here's a close up. I used some Ranger Glossy Accents to give his glasses some "lenses". I think accenting masculine cards is really hard, so I like to add texture with things like stitching and Glossy Accents. I'm really proud of myself for mastering sewing on my cards. (My sewing machine doesn't get much action other than cardmaking. Let's just say I'm not known for being overly domestic.)

I'm entering Joe into Papertake Weekly's One Paper Taker challenge as well as Shopping Our Stash's Text or Letters challenge. (I bought this alphabet twill from The Ribbon Carousel when they were discontinuing their ribbon sales. I had completely forgotten about it until I cleaned up my craft space to work on this card!)

Next up is "cool dude Joe" from the offer of the month - Joe collection. I think Joe earned some free time after all of that studying, don't you? He certainly looks mighty sure of himself on that skateboard!

Supplies: Joe and sentiment (DSB), Mama-Razzi dp (Bo Bunny), Bracket
border punch (EK Success), kraft  cs (TAC), ivory cs (PTI) and Copic markers.

Good Wishes for Dixie

Today's card is actually one that I shared a few years ago:

Supplies: Good Dog-T3296, Kraft and Ivory cardstocks, Lilly Anna SWIC and coordinating cs, Palette Noir ink, Petunia Pink Versamark Ink, distressing tool, brown and pink ribbon, pink rhinestones and Copic markers.

Copics used: Collar: R83, R85, R59; Dog: Y21, YR20, E35, E31 and R83 (inside ears); Shadow/ground: W1, W3.

This dog is from a stamp set by The Angel Company. It reminds me of my dog, Dixie, who loves to roll over onto her back for a good belly rub. Dixie is having surgery today to remove a large lipoma (fatty cyst) from under her left front leg. Dixie is my baby and I will be thinking of her all day. I hope the vet calls to tell me how the surgery goes. I can't wait to pick her back up after work!

Easy Easel Card

Note: This is the second post of the day. Please scroll down to see my Sister Act Card Challenge post.

Eva of the Yumi and Fumi DT recently shared a tutorial for making a Post-It easel card as part of the current CASE challenge. I often have trouble with 3D projects, but I'd successfully made a regular easel card before so I decided to give it a try.

Supplies: Miss Anya Lounge (TGF), Fine and Dandy Girl 6X6 pad (MME),
butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), Copic markers, Tiffany Blue cardstock (Paper and More),
scallop border punch (Fiskars), rhinestones and ribbon.

It was really easy to make and came out perfectly on the first try! I love that! :)

Here is the side view:

Here's a close up of the Post-It note holder and of this adorable Anya stamp. (I don't own any Yumi and Fumi stamps yet, but they're on my wish list)

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Yumi and Fumi Homemade - CASE
Flutter By Wednesday - Anything goes (must include butterfly or fairy)
Cute Card Thursday - Butterfly Kisses
7 Kids College Fund - Anything goes

Sister Act - Doodle Garden

It's time for another "anything goes" challenge over on the Sister Act Card Challenge blog. This week's sponsor is the adorable Doodle Garden. For my card, I chose this little (not so little?) cutie, Eloise the Tightrope Elephant.

As I typed my post, Spring had finally arrived (hopefully for good!) in the Midwest, so I was able to take my photo outside. Natural light is so much better than any light box or photo editing software. My house, however, doesn't have any good place to capture that natural light inside. I am also simply glad for the warm weather. My daughters and I took my dog, Dixie, for a long walk this morning. And I had my first daffodil blooms in my garden. Now if snow and cold weather just stays away for the next 6 months or so, I'll be happy. {Update - unfortunately, no, cold weather did not stay away. At least the snow stayed away here, which is more than a lot of people in the Midwest can say.}

I just know that the rest of the DT has posted awesome challenge cards on the Sister Act Card Challenge site. Head on over and be sure to leave them some kind words. Then, join us for a chance to win a great prize from the Doodle Garden.

Antique Linen Distress Ink (Tim Holtz for Ranger) ribbon, kraft and ivory
cardstock (TAC) and Copic markers.

Flowers and Butterflies - Oh My!

Weatherwise, Spring may have finally decided to stick around mid-Missouri; I even saw the first daffodil blossom in my flower garden. After the weather we've had lately, such an event called for a spring card to celebrate the occasion!

I own several of the gorgeous Hannah Lynn images from Crafts and Me that I haven't used yet. I was so excited to finally use this one along with some of my favorite paper. For my layout, I "borrowed" this week's sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I really like this sketch!

Supplies: Moon Glow by Hannah Lynn (Crafts and Me), Happy Go Lucky
Lime Twist 6X6 paper pad (MME), butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), leaf die (Memory Box),
small flower (Prima), small rose (Recollections/Michaels), medium rose ( Paper Studio),
Copic markers, silver gel pen and self-adhesive pearls.

Here are some close ups of the glittery wings and her beautiful face.

Flutterby Wednesdays - Flowers (and use a butterfly or fairy)
Crafts and Me - Spring Flowers
Crafts4Eternity - Sweet Spring colors
Crafty Creations Challenges - Flowers or Fairies
Cute Card Thursday - Something Borrowed (sketch)

I hope that, wherever you are, you had nice day or at least a nice day stamping inside!

and Copic markers.
