A couple of challenge cards

It's a double challenge Friday for me! Time for another always anything goes challenge from Sister Act Card challenge, where we are being sponsored by Ink & Whimsy. It's also my week to post in the current challenge on Totally Papercrafts, sponsored by Saturated Canary. This week's challenge is Bride and Groom.

First up, is my Totally Papercrafts challenge card.

I actually bought this stamp (Lovely) to participate in a recent Saturated Canary challenge. I never got around to finishing coloring her and making a card. I thought she made the perfect bride.

Here's a closeup of her face as well as a good view of her sparkling gown. (I used a Sakura glue pen and some ultrafine glitter.)

For my Sister Act Card Challenge, I used this fun Simply Betty stamp along with a sketch from this week's Sketch Saturday challenge blog.

Well, there are two fun challenges for you! Be sure to visit Totally Papercrafts and Sister Act Card Challenge to leave some sweet comments for my fellow DT members. Then join in on the fun for a chance to win a prize from our great sponsors!

Birthday Bobbi

Happy, happy hump day! Todays' card features one of the adorable new Bobbi images from DigiStamp Boutique. Be sure to visit the DSB blog to see some other great samples from some of my other DSB teamies.

(FYI - The sentiment is from the Birthday sentiments set from DSB. I love that set and find myself using it on many of my birthday cards.)

I'm also submitting to the following challenges:
Make It Monday - anything goes
Through the Craftroom Door - anything goes

I'll be back on Friday with some challenge entries. Have a great rest of the week!

Going Around In Circles

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is to make a shaped card. I don't have any Nesties that are big enough to make a card, so I used my Cricut to cut out this doily circle card:

Supplies: Arianna (Kraftin' Kimmie), swirl stamp (TAC), Tiny Everyday Sentiments (Pink Petticoat),
Scalloped Circles Cutting files (My Grafico), label die (Quickutz), tag, leaf die (Memory Box),
circle cutter (Creative Memories), Copics, Robin cardstock (Bazzill), large rose (Recollections),
yellow rose (Recollections), peach rose (Prima), small flowers (Prima), rhinestones (Recollections),
cardboard button (October Afternoon), ribbon (Michaels), pink and gold Stickles and ultrafine glitter.

I would LOVE a guest spot on the Kraftin' Kimmie design team, so I'm also entering my card into their GDT call which calls for a bit of sparkle. (The yellow rhinestones on my flowers and the sheer ribbon also add a bit of sparkle.) I just love her sparkly tail! It's a tough call, but Arianna is probably my favorite KK stamp - she is so much fun to color!

I'm also entering her into the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown - Fantasy
Crafty Ribbons - Flowers Galore
CMC Copic Challenge - Colors of Summer
Cute Card Thursday - In the Summertime
Ribbon Carousel - Fun in the Sun
Pollycraft Challenges - Anything Goes
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Natalie and Amy - Fantasy

How Now, Brown Cow?

Well, not exactly.... I think my sweet bovine friend is more the Holstein variety.

She's Cow with Border from Paper Addictions, our sponsor this week at Sister Act Card Challenge. I had a lot of fun creating this scene. The barn "boards" are strips of red cardstock which I distressed and inked. I used various dies and punches to create the flowers and butterflies.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Animal Friends Challenge - Butterflies and/or Bugs
Craft Lovin' - Anything Goes

Head on over to the  Sister Act Card Challenge to see what the rest of the design team has in store for you this week. Then join us in this week's anything goes challenge for a chance to win some cute digis from our sponsor.

Birthday Girl

My oldest daughter turned 19 this Saturday (wow - how did THAT happen?!). There was plenty of celebrating - a bbq party with friends on Friday, dinner out with family and the boyfriend on Saturday, and a Fathers' Day/birthday celebration (Jessica's and my father-in-law's) with family on Sunday.

I hadn't decided on a stamp for Jessica's birthday card yet when I saw a sneak peak on Facebook for a new Birdie Brown image. The image came out Saturday morning - just in time to make Jessica's card! The layout is from the old Card Patterns sketch challenge blog and the papers are from my scrap stash. I love this Birthday Bear so much and had a blast making my card!

(And, yes, it's the same sketch that I used for my Designed to Color summer challenge card below.)

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Lil Red Wagon - 3 or more patterned papers (the patterns are subtle, but the aqua and pink papers in my card are patterned, as is the dp with the birthday words)
Creative Stamp Friends - Birthday

It's a quick post from me tonight. I'll be back throughout the week (Wednesday - DigiStamp Boutique, Friday - Sister Act Card Challenge). Hope to see you then!

Sister Act and Totally Papercrafts Challenges

Welcome to another anything goes challenge Sister Act Card Challenge blog, which is sponsored this week by MilkCoffee. Be sure to check out their Etsy shop to see some adorable images.

This card is actually a Christmas card that I photographed and never got a chance to blog. My youngest daughter, Alison, has a fancy rat named Talia. I bought this Simply Betty stamp for Ali's Christmas card because I knew she would love it. (And I've already bought Season's Greetings Lola for next year's card!)

And, coincidentally enough, the theme this week at Totally Papercrafts is "Feeling Blue" so my card fits perfectly for that, as well. We're sponsored this week by Dilly Beans.

Supplies: Snowball Sale Lola (Simply Betty), Snowfall Collection 6X6 pad (Bo Bunny),
Glossy Accents, chunky glitter and Copic markers.

Here's a closeup of the snow. I made it by gluing some chunky glitter onto the image and then covering it with Glossy Accents. It really gives the dimension and sparkle of snow.

Head on over to the SACC blog to what the rest of the girls came up with this week!

Happy, Happy, Happy!

I'm not usually an audio book fan (I'm a visual person and have trouble following along with the story), but I've been listening to "Happy, Happy, Happy" by Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame. He definitely has had a very interesting life.

Well, what makes me happy, happy, happy is a) the fact that it is Wednesday (and the work week is half over!) and b) that I used lots of my favorite color - PINK - in today's DigiStamp Boutique card.

Here's a closeup of the adorable Murphy image:

I'm trying to use some of my neglected craft supply stash, so I used some discontinued products - a 6X6 paper pad from The Angel Company and some iridescent ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel.  The layout is based on this week's The Sweetest Thing sketch. And, of course, I used my trusty Copic markers to color in Murphy.

Wishing you a happy, happy, happy Wednesday!

Sister Act Card Challenge

Happy Friday! Here's a quick birthday card idea for this week's Sister Act Card Challenge. The layout is perfect for using up strips of patterned paper from your scrap stash.

This DigiStamp Boutique image is called Birthday Candles and it's so cute and so fun to color! And it can be used on a birthday card for any recipient - male or female, young or old. My favorite thing, though, is the sentiment that comes with it. You could also use the sentiment separately on the inside of your card.

Head on over to the Sister Act Card Challenge and be sure to join us in another anything goes challenge for a chance to win a prize from this week's sponsor!

3D Project

Ever since I saw it, I was anxious to try making the 2 drawer easel card that I spotted on the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog a while back. I'm usually pretty hesitant about trying 3D projects, but I felt up to the challenge having had success with their easy Post-It Easel Card tutorial. I followed their great tutorial for the 2 drawer easel card and this is the result:

and a closeup:
Supplies: Yumi (YF&H), Beautiful DP from Quite Contrary - Mary collection (My Minds Eye),
pink cs (Bazzill), Aqua Lagoon pearlescent cardstock (Paper and More), Copics,
rose and aqua paper roses (Recollections), pink ribbon flower (stash),
leaf and butterfly punches (Martha Stewart), border punch (EK Success), pink and aqua Stickles,
brads (Paper Studio) and small sticky notes (Staples).

I'm showing off the adorable Yumi on the fun new challenge blog, Crafty Friends, as well as the following challenges:
Make It Monday - anything goes
Flutterby Wednesday - recipe (flowers, at least one butterfly, a punch or die)
Paula Holifield Crafts - Something Sweet
ABC Challenge - O is for Open
Card Makin' Mamas - Rubber Stamp Inspiration (also sponsored by Y&FH!)
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

I had a lot of fun making this project. I hope you enjoyed seeing it! Thanks for visiting my blog.
