A Saturated Challenge!

This week's Totally Papercrafts challenge is sponsored by Saturated Canary, so our theme for this week's challenge is to use saturated colors. That is, colors that are intense and bright like these:

Somehow, in the excitement of choosing an image for my card, yours truly completely forgot the theme and chose... Wedding Day. You know - Wedding as in "all dressed in white" - as in no color, much less saturated color. Oops!! However, I realized that she did have hair and eyes that I could color vibrantly. She was carrying a bouquet. And, the more I looked at card samples on the web, I found most people colored the underskirt that peeks out from the front of her dress. So, being able to saturate those elements with color along with some pretty saturated dp yielded this card:

The swirly paper is from The Paper Studio and the dotted paper is a scrap of PTI Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dot dp. She's colored with Copics (of course!) with some pearls, silver ribbon, ultrafine glitter and pearlescent fabric paint (the dots of her crown/headband). Because the paper was rather fussy/busy, I kept the card embellishments to a minimum.

I always have the worst time trying to catch the shimmer of glitter, but hopefully you can see some of the details here:

She is a beautiful bride, isn't she?

You know the drill. :) Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog and check out the other dt members cards (and give them a little love on their blogs, if time allows - everyone loves a compliment or two on their cards). Then, play along with our Saturated Color challenge for a chance to win a prize from Krista and Saturated Canary!

Colorful Wryn

For the currently Tiddly Inks challenge, Christy asked us to take our inspiration from a photo of a rainbow striped umbrella. I went for a colorful palette with a "April showers bring May flowers" theme:

The layout is based on the current sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Thanks for another great sketch, Arlana!

Operation Write Home

Lawn Fawn, one of my favorite stamp companies, has been promoting the Operation Write Home campaign by participating in a multi-company blog hop. The theme is "Make 'Em Laugh", so I decided to use my brand new LF stamp set, Gnome Sweet Gnome.  I just love this set!

I'm going to make another card or two to send along with this one to Operation Write Home. It's a great cause and I like knowing something that I enjoy doing can bring a smile to someone else's face. :)

MFT Sketch

I've been wanting to play along with the weekly MFT sketch challenge for months and finally got a chance to play... just in time for my camera to go haywire. :(  So, I photographed my card using my daughter's camera. I hope to get better photo uploaded later tonight.

I loved this week's sketch. It was very simple and basic, allowing the focus to be on these fun Lime Twist papers and cute Claire Kay MFT image:

I know a little girl in mittens and a pom pom hat doesn't usually bring to mind flowers, but there was something about this paper that made me want to use it with this image.  (Maybe just my innate love of pink - lol!)

Steampunk Beauty

I just love, love, love Hannah Lynn's artwork over at Crafts And Me and this digistamp, Miss Mirabelle is no exception:

Here's a closeup of this beauty and her bling:

I encrusted her wings and dress buttons with some ultrafine glitter. (This also muted the colors on her wings.) The ribbon and pearl lace is from Hobby Lobby. Isn't it gorgeous? Other supplies include my Copics (of course!), a rose and dp from the Prima (Fairy Belle 6X6 pad), and a Sissix swirl die.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafts And Me Challenges - 3D
Do You Stack Up - Glitter/bling

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Something Sketchy's Goin' On...

I've been having so much fun playing with my new goodies and participating in challenges. :)  I made this card today using some Baby Steps dp from Simple Stories and some twill ribbon that I bought a while ago from Ribbon Carousel.

Since I'm entering my card into There She Goes' Ribbon Time challenge, I chose to use this cute little pup from TSG's Puppy Love set. (I love, love, love that stamp set!)

The layout for my card is actually a blend of two sketches. This one from Jen del Muro's I [heart] 2stamp (where, coincidentally, TSG is the monthly sponsor):

And this one from Sketch Saturday:

I'm also entering my card in Dutch Dare Card Challenges' Buttons and Bows challenge. (There's a little heart button in the top right corner of my card, although it's a little hard to see in the photo.)

Guess what? I've spent so much time crafting this weekend that I actually have another card that I'm posting tomorrow afternoon! See you then!

Totally Papercrafts - Things with Wings

Welcome to this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge - Things with Wings. We are sponsored this week by DigiDoodle Shop, so I used their adorable Spring Time Bunnies image for my card:

Aren't they just the cutest? The image didn't have anything with wings, so I added these butterflies with my brand new Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I layered the larger butterfly and added shading to the smaller ones with my Copic markers. I also used some new paper - the green floral and the striped dp are both from  Kaisercrafts' 6X6 Lilac Avenue pad. It was fun to use my new crafting goodies! :) I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Wags 'n Whiskers - Say It With Flowers
Fairy Fun Fridays - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Spring Flowers
Simon Says Stamp - April Showers Bring Spring Flowers
Catered Crop - Brads

Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog to check out the rest of the design team's cards. Play along for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the DigiDoodle Shop.

Garden Spot

Wow, I'm so excited to be able to squeeze in a card this early in the week! There have been so many fun challenges out there that I just HAD to get back to participating in some. I really like this new image from DigiStamp Boutique, In the Garden - Flowers, and thought it would go perfectly with this Citrus Stack paper.

My card is based on this great sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Waste Not Wednesday - (my long neglected Citrus Stack paper)
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Simon Says Stamp - use your favorite tool (Cuttlebug - used the Quickutz label for my sentiment)
Pile It On challenge blog - All About S____ (spring)
Sweet Stampin' - Dies & Doodles (diecut sentiment and swirl)

Don't forget to come back on Friday with to check out the newest Totally Papercrafts challenge!

B-I-N-G-O!

Welcome to another Totally Papercrafts challenge! This week's challenge is to design a card using this BINGO grid of card "ingredients":

I chose the diagonal of Blue, Lilac and Pink for my card:

My card features another cute Easter image from DigiStamp Boutique. This guy is part of the Easter Collection 2. This layout is very different for me and was inspired by Amy Rysavy's Spring and Easter Card Series on You Tube. My cards are always so geometric and symmetrical! Must be the rule following eldest child in me. ;-) I'm trying to shake things up a bit and I'm finding Amy's videos very inspirational.

Well, enough blabbering from me. :) Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog to check out the rest of the team's cards. If you play along with us, you might win an awesome prize from Simon Says Stamp - a $25 gift card. Wow! :)

For those who celebrate - have a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Easter! I'll be celebrating with the extended family when we host the annual family Easter dinner. It should be fun, other than all the cleaning and cooking for 13 people. ;-)
