Sweet Magnolia

It's been a long time since I played along with a Magnolia challenge. This week I decided to play along with not one by two Magnolia challenges! So, I dusted off my favorite Tilda and made this card:

Supplies: Standing Fall Tilda (Magnolia), blue star digital paper (DigiStamp Boutique), taupe swirl dp (Tim Holtz 12X12 pad), grey swirl dp (Creative Memories), Ivory cs (Papertrey Ink), markers, chunky glitter (Martha Stewart), snowflake embellishments (Jolee's), foam snowflake (Michaels) and ribbon (Michaels).

The color scheme came from the wintery Inspiration Challenge on the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Here's the inspiration picture:

I am also entering my card into the "Anything Goes" challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites. Thanks to hostess Cheryl Rowley for picking an easy theme for this challenge! I may just have to join their "All You Need is Love" blog hop, as well!

Lastly, I am entering this card into the current MilkCoffee Challenge - Snowflakes/Snow plus Sparkle and/or Glitter.

Merry Christmas, Tilda

It's damp and drizzly today and somewhat warm for this time of year, so it's not feeling very Christmas-y out yet. This little Tilda card, though, should put me in the mood:

I bought this Christmas Party Tilda a while ago and haven't inked her up nearly enough. She's so cute!

My First Easel Card

I made my first easel card this week. I don't know how many more I'll make of these, but it was fun to try (and succeed) and making one.

I was inspired to try this because of several easel/fancy folds challenges this week. I'm also entering this card into several other challenges, so I included a Magnolia stamp (my fave Standing Fall Tilda), a "Thinking of You" sentiment and an autumn-ish color scheme, as well as giving Tilda some auburn tresses.

Fall Tilda

It's starting to feel like summer days are on the wane and autumn will be here soon. It certainly is a good excuse to dust off one of my favorite Magnolia stamps, Standing Fall Tilda.  (She must be a lot of other people's favorites, because she's currently sold out at the Magnolia-licious store. I'm sure Diana will be getting more in stock soon, though.)

We leave in about an hour for our trip, but I wanted to leave you with one last card. I searched for Red, White and Blue challenge on the 4th of July and was halfway through making the card before I realized that the challenge was from May. Oops! lol! :)

Roses for Tilda

Magnolia Recipe Challenge

Wow, two posts in one day! (Scroll down to see my weekly DigiStamp Boutique card.) It's been a while since I participated in a challenge, so I decided to play along with this recipe challenge from the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog.

The recipe called for 4 flowers, 3 different patterned papers, 2 Magnolia stamps and 1 ribbon. I paired this adorable Tilda with the Magnolia bench. (I love that stamp - it looks so cute with all the sitting Tildas & Edwards!)  Although the green paper looks solid it actually has a very subtle floral pattern on it. The green and paisley papers are both from the Tiffany stack by We R Memory Keepers. Other supplies: pink swirl dp (Paper Studio), flowers (Prima), ribbon (Michaels), leaf punch (MS), copper brads, pop-dots and Copic markers.

I won those big red rhinestones in some blog candy a while ago. I didn't think I'd ever use them, but they were just the right size for this project. It just goes to show that if you keep something long enough, you'll eventually find a use for it. Or at least we crafters like to tell ourselves that. ;-)

Reading Tilda

I was going to make this bookmark for the Magnolia-licious August homepage contest, but I just could not get it finished on time. I finally finished it up last night. I have hardly been home this week between work & kids' activities, so I am looking forward to a long weekend with a lot of stamping!

Magnolia-licious Tricks-n-Treats Blog Hop

The Magnolia-licious Highlites blog is having a "Tricks-n-Treats" blog hop and invited blog readers to submit an entry. The requirements were (of course) to use a Magnolia stamp, use a Fall or Halloween theme and include a matching treat box with your card. I combined this challenge with the current sketch on the Magnolia-icious site.
Here's a close up of the card:

The image is "Standing Fall Tilda". I used two large orange Prima flowers in place of the circles on the original sketch. I don't think I would've used such bright, large flowers on too many of my cards, but they seemed to work really well on this card. The pumpkins are leftovers from an old "Done with One" from Creative Memories. I loved those little die cut sets and was bummed when they discontinued them!

Here's my matching candy holder. (No candy in there yet - sorry!) I used this tutorial from the Scor-Pal site. I can attest to the fact that this is an easy little project to make. I almost always screw this sort of thing up, but my treat holder actually came out right on the first try. Wow!


I think I'm going to make a bunch of these to give as little holiday gifts, using a Christmas/winter theme, of course. It was really fun to make!

Happy Birthday, Tilda!

I'm trying to get my challenge mojo back, so I decided to join in Stamp Something's birthday challenge. You can always use more birthday cards, right? In fact, I think I'll save this for my friend Pam's birthday next May. Since we were kids, Pam's favorite color has always been purple. I think she'll like this card! :)


The DP is from a stack I bought from Cindy at StampingScrapping.com. The card base is made from SU! River Rock cardstock, which I won in a blog candy package from Irina of LaLaLandCrafts. [Check out her new stamps -they're pretty cute! :)] The image is an adorable Tilda from Magnolia that I got in a great image swap over on SplitCoastStampers. The flower is from Making Memories and the leaf is an Emagination punch. (They have the BEST punches. They never, ever stick and always punch cleanly!) Tilda is a colored in with Copic markers.

Sweet as a Cupcake

My wonderful friend, Diana, let me stamp off a few of her newest Magnolia stamps recently. This one is Tilda with Cowberry Muffin. I'm not sure what a cowberry is - would I even want to eat one? But she's cute, anyway. ;-)

I was anxious to make a card with her, so I used her on this card for the June sketch challenge over on the Magnolia-licious Hi-lites blog.

The printed papers are from a new stack I bought at Hobby Lobby this week. It's by DCWV and it's called Blossoms and Butterflies. You can't really tell in the photo, but the pink paper is glittered. I also used glitter on the top of the muffin/cupcake. To add more sparkle, I used my clear Spica pen on her wings and some metallic fiber from my stash on the button. (It's more blue in person.) The flourishes are a Quickutz die I used in my Cuttlebug. That corner of the card looked "empty" without something there. Also, I used some Belle Rose Palette ink to sponge my plain oval (which was cut with my trusty CM Shapemaker cutting system). I liked the dimension it added and it helped tie the lighter pink oval into the bright pink background paper. (This paper is even brighter in person!)

Magnolia Challenge

This week's challenge on the Just Magnolia blog was to use an animal or insect image. I used my first Tilda that I ever bought, Tilda with Lamb.


Supplies: Tilda with Lamb, floral paper from glitter DCWV stack, Copics, Quickutz flourish die brads, daisy punch, Primas, ribbon from Mike's, Nestabilities scalloped circle, MM ribbon slot punch.

Butterfly Challenge

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge on the Magnolia-licious group. We had to use a regular Tilda and add butterfly wings. I used Dreamy Tilda. She seemed to be in the perfect pose for wings.

The wings are from a butterfly image my friend Diana stamped for me, so I don't even know the stamp company's name. I had to cut a slit behind Tilda's braid to slip the wings in the right place. I like the 3D effect!
