An Inspiring Challenge....

This week's Totally Papercrafts challenge is to make a card or other project based on this inspiration photo:

Hmmmm..... those brownies look good, don't they? Well, as yummy as they are, I took my inspiration from the colors in this photo. I used the herringbone technique once again, this time using super skinny strips (1/8"). It wasn't too difficult to put together and I really love how it turned out.

Isn't this Cozy Winter Owl  just too cute? He's available from this week's Totally Papercrafts sponsor, Meljen's Designs.

Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog to check out the other DT members' cards. If you play along with us this week, you could win a great prize from our sponsor, Meljen's Designs!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Another Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Happy Friday! Welcome to another fun Totally Papercrafts challenge! This week's challenge is simple - just include ribbon and/or bow(s) on your card. Our sponsor this week is Stamp and Create. Play along with the challenge for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Stamp and Create store.

This was my Valentines Day card for my oldest daughter, Jess. It's not the most traditional of Valentines images, but she *loves* giraffes so I just had to include one on her card. :)  This PWCO stamp (no longer in business) started out as just a plain giraffe. I added a heart punched out of cardstock, shaded it with a Copic marker and placed it where it would be if he was holding in his mouth.. Then I stamped a second giraffe head, cut it out and layered it on top of the heart. (If you look closely, you can see that part of the image stands out from the rest.)

I'm entering this little cutie in this week's Hearts challenge on the Catered Crop blog as well as the Ribbons and/or Lace challenge on the Let's Ink It Up blog.

Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts challenge blog to check out all the ways that the DT included ribbon and/or bows in their cards.

Happy Friday!!!!

Over the Rainbow

If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. ~ Dolly Parton

Boy, do I hope that saying is true because I am due for that rainbow! I'm so glad this stressful, crazy week is over! And I'm also glad that I finally finished my card for this week's It's a Rainbow challenge for Totally Papercrafts. Fortunately, the TP girls are such a wonderful and understanding design team. :)

Coincidentally, this week's inspiration challenge on the Dancing in Pajamas TCP blog also had a rainbow theme - a perfect excuse to break out those adorable TCP penguins!

I also thought it would be a good challenge to try out the herringbone technique over at SplitCoastStampers. This technique was so much fun! I can't wait to try it again.

If you play along with the It's a Rainbow challenge on the Totally Papercrafts blog, you could win a great prize from our sponsor, Delicious Doodles. Also be sure to stop by the blog to check out all the other (timely!) DT members' cards. :)

Owl You Need is Love

Hi! Welcome to another fun Totally Papercrafts challenge! Sue designed this fabulous sketch for us to use in this week's challenge:

Here's my interpretation of the sketch:

I discovered 2 Cute Ink stamps on the i{heart}2stamp blog and was thrilled when I found this cute little owl in the 2CuteInk digistamp shop: Owl You Need is Love . My youngest daughter just LOVES owls so this will be her Valentines Day card. I can't wait for her to see it! I think she'll love it.

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:
By the Cute and Girly - Love is in the Air
Digi Doodle Shop - Love is in the Air
I Brake for Challenge - Love
Tuesday Throwdown - Use Hearts

Be sure to visit the Totally Papercrafts blog to check out all the wonderful DT cards and then play along with us! You could win a fab prize ($25 gift certificate) from Simon Says Stamp.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Those nice ladies at Sweet Sketch Wednesday picked my Wryn card the other week for their Top 3 Award. Thank you so much ladies! I am so proud of my SSW badge in my sidebar. :)

Here's my card for this week's challenge, which is sponsored by A Day for Daisies:

I have been a fan of ADFD for a while but didn't have any of their stamps. I bought this one because it was so beautiful and I thought it would make a great Mothers' Day card.  It was also a good excuse to use lots of pink - my favorite color. :)

Thanks for another great sketch, Arlana!

SFYTT

Whew! I finished my card in time to participate in this month's SFYTT (Sketch for You to Try) and the Inspiration Photo challenge on the Dancing in Pajamas blog. I have to admit, I really struggled with this sketch.

I adapted the color scheme (red/white/kraft/dark brown) and hearts from the TCP Inspiration Photo:

Colour Q's current color challenge is a very similar one, so I'm entering my card into their challenge as well. (Thanks for the tip, Noelle!)

Here's my card after several re-designs:

Here's a closeup of cute little Angel Yappy:

I popped him up with pop dots, added some glitter to his wings and pink to his nose. I popped up the heart accents with just some foam tape, so they are not as puffed out as Yappy, giving him center stage. :)

And speaking of dogs, I got great news today - my foster dog, Tinkerbelle, got adopted over the weekend. Yay!

A Sweet TSG Card

This week's challenge on the There She Goes blog was "Love is in the Air", so TSG's "Puppy Love" stamp set was the perfect choice! (Of course, I think "Puppy Love" is just about the perfect choice for everything because I love dogs and I love Torico's designs!)

And, speaking of Puppy Love, here's my "puppy love", Dixie. Isn't she the cutest dog in the world? My kids will warn you that you may as well shake your head and say "Why, yes, she IS the cutest dog in the world." because I would refuse to admit otherwise. ;-) She's my baby!

From Dixie and me - Have a wonderful week! See you soon.
