Sweet Sketch Wednesday

I was determined to spend some time this weekend having fun making cards. I just had to play along with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch! Not only is it a great sketch but it's sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique. Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

Supplies: Valentine Olivia and Simply Valentines Greetings (DSB), heart and swirl dp (Bo Bunny), hot pink heart dp (Paper Studio), heart brads (Recollctions - Michaels), Copics and red organdy ribbon (Bags and Bows)

Isn't this little kitty just too adorable? She's Offer of the Month - Valentine Olivia. The sentiment is from another Offer of the Month - Simply Valentines Greetings.  I love having sentiments all ready to just print off and add to my card!

If you hurry, it's not too late to play along with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge. The challenge closes at 7 PM (MST) tonight (Tuesday). You could win your choice of 6 digi images from the DigiStamp Boutique store!

Garden Spot

Wow, I'm so excited to be able to squeeze in a card this early in the week! There have been so many fun challenges out there that I just HAD to get back to participating in some. I really like this new image from DigiStamp Boutique, In the Garden - Flowers, and thought it would go perfectly with this Citrus Stack paper.

My card is based on this great sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Waste Not Wednesday - (my long neglected Citrus Stack paper)
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Simon Says Stamp - use your favorite tool (Cuttlebug - used the Quickutz label for my sentiment)
Pile It On challenge blog - All About S____ (spring)
Sweet Stampin' - Dies & Doodles (diecut sentiment and swirl)

Don't forget to come back on Friday with to check out the newest Totally Papercrafts challenge!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Those nice ladies at Sweet Sketch Wednesday picked my Wryn card the other week for their Top 3 Award. Thank you so much ladies! I am so proud of my SSW badge in my sidebar. :)

Here's my card for this week's challenge, which is sponsored by A Day for Daisies:

I have been a fan of ADFD for a while but didn't have any of their stamps. I bought this one because it was so beautiful and I thought it would make a great Mothers' Day card.  It was also a good excuse to use lots of pink - my favorite color. :)

Thanks for another great sketch, Arlana!

Friends are the Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop

I actually have two posts today. (Shocking, but true! LOL) If you're looking for this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge, scroll on down. After you check out my entry into the Tiddly Inks blog hop, of course. ;-)

I'm so excited to be participating in today's blog hop. I've been a fan of Christy Kroll's work ever since I "discovered" her through her work for Stamping Bella. I love, love, love the new Wryn character. She is just too sweet - but you can see she has a fun and maybe even a slightly spunky side to her, too. She reminds me a lot of my youngest daughter. (Even though my own little Wryn is now a teenager and taller than me!)

Without further ado (or blabbing from me!) here is my "Friends are the Flowers of Life" blog hop entry. I used this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for my layout. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I can't wait to see all the other great cards along the blog hop!

Alison the Witch

My youngest daughter is named Alison, so whenever I find a stamp named Ali or Alison, I just have to buy it! I recently purchased Alison the Witch (we're also big fans of Halloween at my house), so I was thrilled when I saw this contest - New Fall Images and a Grand Idea - on the Tiddly Inks blog. I couldn't wait to play with Alison and make my Fall card! For my layout, I chose this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I like to pop in on Arlana and the rest of the SSW design team. :)

I can't ever seem to capture the pretty effect of glitter in my photos, but here's a close up so you can get a better look at this cutie anyway:

Supplies: Alison the Witch (Tiddly Inks), orange polka dot paper (Halloween stack by K&CO), Goth pumpkin dp (Recollections from Michaels), Copics, Prismacolor pencils, Halloween ribbon (Michaels), border punch (EK Success), circle Cutting System (CM), glitter, rhinestones.

In addition to the Tiddly Inks challenge, I'm submitting this card to the challenges listed below. (There are A LOT of Halloween/Fall challenges out there this week!)
All Sorts Challenges - Halloween
ABC Challenge - B is for Boo
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Creavil.com - Halloween
C.R.A.F.T Challenge - Autumn
Little Red Wagon - Fall
Wags N Whiskers - Fall colors
If the Shoe Fits - Spooky Fall
Really Reasonble Ribbon - Fall
PaperCrafting Journey - color challenge (orange/white/black)
Paper Play Challenges - use black

Now that the Fall sports season is coming to a close, I'll be able to stamp (and post!) more often. Yay!

Seeing Red!!!

No, I'm not having a fit of anger, LOL! Seeing Red is the theme of this week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge! :) This card is also my entry into Cute Card Thursday's Hearts and Flowers challenge and Sweet Sketch Wednesday's Sketch 88 challenge.

Supplies: Posey (Kraftin' Kimmie), Sweetheart dp (DCWV), scallop border punch (Fiskars), heart shaped brads (Recollections), Copics, ribbon.

I knew I had to use Posey for this challenge. I even gave her red hair, in honor of this week's theme. ;-)

SSW 61

When I stepped down from the team, I promised to check in on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday ladies from time to time. When I saw this week's sketch, I couldn't wait to play along. The embellishments reminded me of the EK Success punch that I just bought. I've been coveting that punch since I was at Archivers last month and finally bought when I was in St. Louis on Monday.

I love how the punch mimics the flower in this image from DigiStamp Boutique. The paper from Basic Grey also mimics the purple flower in the image.

Why don't you head on over to SSW and play along, too! :)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

This week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch has a slightly different twist to it. The image is cut into an oval and matted with a circle.

We're lucky enough to be sponsored once again by Sally-Ann of DigiStamp Boutique. For this week's card I chose the uber-cute Poppy

Head on over to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday  blog and check out the rest of the design team's cards. Then play along for a chance to win $10 in digi images from Sally-Ann's shop!

MIA & SSW

My apologies for not posting these days. I completely blanked on Fab Friday! I'm trying to prepare for a craft show on Saturday and a home business open house on Sunday. Needless to say, I've crafted a lot but just have been too busy to photograph & blog it.

Of course, I made time to play along with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch, though! This week there were two sketches:

I chose to make a card with the Double Take sketch and this adorable image from this week's sponsor, Whimsie Doodles:

I adhere the tree with some pop dots. I love the dimension it gives the card when you see it in person.

Be sure to stop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and check out the rest of the design team members' cards.

Supplies: Muffin for Christmas (Whimsie Doodles), greeting from TAC, SU! corner punch, Nestabilities (scalloped circle & label), CM Shapecutting System (circles), Prismacolor pencils with OMS, ribbon from Michaels.

A Sweet Little Bunny

Have you made a card for this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday? If not, hop to it! You can still play along with the current sketch, which I posted yesterday. If you can't play this week, be sure to check out the new sketch which will debut Wednesday morning. Here's my card for this week's sketch:

I used some of my favorite products on the card - my favorite stamp from the "Some Bunny" set; "Mimi" printed cardstock, Burnt Umber Palette ink; Kraft, Ivory and Brown cardstocks; Red-Violet Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock; Prismacolor watercolor pencils blended with a Dove blender pen; flower & button from the "Lemonade Embellishment Jar"; pink Scrappers' Floss; and, dark brown ribbon. Except for the ribbon, all products are from The Angel Company (TAC). (The ribbon is from either Michaels or Hobby Lobby - I'm not sure which.)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Sorry I haven't been posting these past few days. We took a long weekend trip to Chicago and I just got back last night. (Actually, about 3:30 AM this morning!) I have lots of news to share and, soon, some new cards. First, this big news...

I have been asked to join the design team of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge blog. If you read my blog often, you know I love sketch challenges so I was very honored to be invited to join this great group of ladies.

Have you checked out this week's sketch yet? Here it is:

Hope you come and play with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
