Totally Papercrafts Challenge #213

Happy Friday! It's been a while since I've been able to participate, so I'm especially excited to bring you a new Totally Papercrafts challenge! This week's challenge is a fun one - Pastel (i.e., use pastel colors in your card). This is a perfect challenge for the upcoming Easter holiday. So for my card, I chose this adorable chick from the DigiStamp Boutique Cute Chicklets - Easter collection.

I just love this little guy!

You remember the drill - hop on over to the Totally Papercrafts challenge blog to check out the rest of the design teams' fab projects, leave them a little papercrafting love and then join us for a chance to win a prize from this week's sponsor - Stamp and Create.

Easter Wishes

Popping in with a quick Easter card using one of the chicks in the Cute chicklets Easter collection, which is currently on special in the DigiStamp Boutique shop. My layout is based on a great sketch I found over on the Sunday Stamps blog. It was perfect for using up some of those scrap strips we all find in our scrap stash.

The "Easter wishes" sentiment can also be found in the DigiStamp Boutique store. It's part of the Easter Branch set.

Hope to see you later this week with another card!

(DT) Girls Gone Wild!

Well, not really. :) But our fearless leader, Sally-Ann, has given the DT free reign over at the DigiStamp Boutique blog. So, check the blog regularly for posts from the rest of the design team. For the most part, I'll be posting on Wednesdays - you can look for my posts here or on the DSB blog.

For today's card, I used the adorable Offer of the Month, Bluebell.

Supplies: Bluebell and sentiment (DSB), polka dot paper (Penny Lane by MME),
"For Peeps Sake" dp (Imaginisce), large flower punch (Karl), small flower punch (Paper Studio),
Tall Stem Die (Poppy Stamps/Memory Box), butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), glitter,
scallop border punch (Fiskars), buttons (Paper Studio and Dress It Up), Copic markers,
Glossy Accents (Ranger), pink vintage seam binding (Ribbon Carousel).

I'm entering Bluebell into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Easter Parade
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Paper Crafting Journey - Ribbon or Lace
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Well, I have to hop off now to go finish my spring cleaning and Easter preps! Hope to see you later this week with another card or two.

P.S. I have been having a lot of problems with spam and moderating comments isn't working. (I just deleted over 1200 spam comments from all over my blog.) So, I'm going to try only allowing registered users to leave comments. This should be anyone with a Google id, as well as other registered accounts. By banning anonymous comments, I'm hoping to get rid of this scourge. I hope that no one wants to legitimately leave a comment is prevented from doing so. I am very sorry that I had to resort to this but I am at my wits' end.

Snow on My Doorstep, Easter in My Heart

{Sigh} That darn weather forecaster was right again. Snow - AGAIN. This was the view outside my door this morning. You can't tell in the photo, but it was still snowing steadily. We got about 8 inches of snow before it ended.

I have been a very busy bunny, spring cleaning and getting ready for Easter so I decided to reward myself with a little crafting time. I've been dying to do make a card with the cute new Bluebell from DigiStamp Boutique. I've also been anxious to try out this washi tape that I recently bought from Pick Your Plum. When Designed to Color posted this week's one layer Sunday Showcase challenge on their Facebook page, I knew it would be a perfect time to break out the washi tape.

Supplies: Bluebell and Easter sentiment (DigiStamp Boutiqe),
washi tape (Pick Your Plum),  flower (Prima),
brad (Paper Studio), Copic markers.

I wanted to make some holiday decorations, so I made this sign with Bluebell. (That's the great thing about digital stamps - you can make them as small or as large as you want.) I printed one copy each on white and kraft paper. Next, I used my the picture cropping tool in Word to cut and print out another copy of his lower half on white (so I would have an extra butterfly, flower and egg without reprinting the entire image) and cropped it again to just print out the section with his paws on kraft paper. I used ink and a homemade cloud template to create the sky background. Then I colored everything, using chalk and colored pencil to add color to Bluebell and Copics for the rest.  The last step was to cut out all the images/parts and assemble everything, layering the egg and extra paws on top of Bluebell and then gluing Bluebell and the flowers to the background.

Here's a close up. As you can see, I curled the butterfly and daffodil layers to add some dimension. I also added some Glossy Accents to his nose, the bow and the center of the daffodil, although it doesn't show up in the photo.

Isn't he cute? I'm entering Bluebell in the following challenges:
Love to Create - Anything Goes
Celebrate the Occasion - Happy Easter!
Cute Card Thursday - Easter Parade

Hop on over to DigiStamp Boutique to see lots of other adorable Easter images!

Easter Extravaganza!

Wow, Easter is early this year! With snow still in our forecast (again/still?), I doubt the Easter bunny will be hiding any eggs outside. :)

This week's Totally Papercrafts Challenge is Easter Extravaganza - use an egg as a featured design element in your card. We are sponsored this week by the fab J and C Creations and Saturated Canary. For my card, I chose this adorable Murray image from Saturated Canary. I just love her little chick friend and my Easter eggs are right there in her design.

Supplies: Murray (Saturated Canary), zigzag dp (Paper Studio), border punch (MS),
flower punch, yellow brad, pink vintage silk binding (Ribbon Carousel),
Copic markers, blue chalk and homemade cloud template.

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Easter Parade
Createalicious Challenges - Lovely Easter
Simon Say Stamp - Easter/Spring
Celebrate the Occasion - Happy Easter!
ABC Challenges - J for Just as You Like (aka Anything Goes)

If you haven't visited already, stop on by the Totally Papercrafts challenge blog to see how the other DT member featured an Easter egg in their Easter Extravaganza cards. Then play along with us to win a prize from one of our two great sponsors!

B-I-N-G-O!

Welcome to another Totally Papercrafts challenge! This week's challenge is to design a card using this BINGO grid of card "ingredients":

I chose the diagonal of Blue, Lilac and Pink for my card:

My card features another cute Easter image from DigiStamp Boutique. This guy is part of the Easter Collection 2. This layout is very different for me and was inspired by Amy Rysavy's Spring and Easter Card Series on You Tube. My cards are always so geometric and symmetrical! Must be the rule following eldest child in me. ;-) I'm trying to shake things up a bit and I'm finding Amy's videos very inspirational.

Well, enough blabbering from me. :) Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts blog to check out the rest of the team's cards. If you play along with us, you might win an awesome prize from Simon Says Stamp - a $25 gift card. Wow! :)

For those who celebrate - have a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Easter! I'll be celebrating with the extended family when we host the annual family Easter dinner. It should be fun, other than all the cleaning and cooking for 13 people. ;-)

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Happy Friday! Yep, it's time for another fun Totally Papercrafts challenge and this one's an easy one for most of us: Easter. There are so many cute Easter images! Even if you don't have an Easter image per se, you probably have a bunny or suitably Easter-ish spring stamp somewhere in your collection. I love spring so I have lots of Easter stamps and digistamps to pick from. For today's card, I'm using another cute new Easter image from DigiStamp Boutique.

Isn't this fun Easter paper? It's from the Paper Studio and I bought it at Hobby Lobby last week. The patterns are rather bright and busy so I kept my embellishments to a minimum. I just love these fat, fluffy chicks! They are so happy. :) I am also entering this card in this week's Cute Card Thursday Easter challenge.

Head on over to the Totally Papercrafts site to check out this week's challenge as well as the other DT members' cards. "Hoppy" Friday! :)

Fab Friday for the Frantic

Peter Cottontail will soon be hopping down that bunny trail. If you haven't had time to make your Easter cards yet, check out some digital options.

Sally-Ann has a cute new Easter collection available at the DigiStamp Boutique shop.

(And, yes, the card on the DigiStamp site is one from yours truly!)
I'm also a big fan of one of last year's releases, Spring Coco and friends.

If you're looking for religious Easter images, try TAC's Digi Design House: Easter images. TAC's own Mabelle Ramirez-Ortiz also has some cute Easter images in her Etsy shop, Whimsy and Stars Studio.

Time for me to hop off to bed! I'm serving Easter dinner for 12 on Sunday and I still have a lot of cleaning and cooking to do.

Worth Dye-ing For!

Tonight was time for that annual family ritual - the dyeing of the Easter eggs! Even DH joined in on the fun, but of course, my kids had the most fun. (And were the most creative!) Here's our collective efforts:

Now, since this IS a Wednesday, I wanted to be sure to include something that featured a stamp or other product from The Angel Company. In the spirit of Easter, I hid this one a bit.... :)

Here he is - the cute little bunny from the "I Love Easter" set:

I stamped him onto some sticker paper with Versafine, dried the image a bit with my heat gun and then cut him out. Ta-da! A custom Easter sticker. :)

I'm hopping off to bed now. See you soon with another Easter project!

I Can't Believe It's Wednesday!

Ohmigosh.... First, February is a weirdly short month. Then I was sick for over a week. Then, we turned back the clocks this past weekend. I have been soooo confused! I was in a bit of a panic driving home tonight when I thought it was Wednesday and I'd forgotten to post. Whew, I'm glad I didn't miss this chance to share this week's awesome Sweet Sketch Wednesday with you!

I am just LOVING these cute spring images from our sponsor, Sally-Ann of DigiStamp Boutique. Be sure to play along with this week's sketch for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the shop.

And don't forget that we are hosting a fun blog hop along with Sally-Ann later this week! I know there will be some awesome projects and I bet there will be a prize or two, as well...

Welcome Spring!

Ahhhh! I think that soon I won't have to warm up my car or scrape the windshield. I am so ready for spring and warmer weather! It seems so many people have been hit with an unusual amount of snow and/or cold temps this winter. Spring here we come!

What better way to celebrate spring than with this new release from Sally-Ann of DigiStamp Boutique. Here our friend Coco is having some fun with his Easter friends.

Be sure to check out the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog later this month. We'll be hosting a blog hop in conjunction with the DigiStamp Boutique. I suspect Coco might be carrying a few blog hop prizes in that basket!

Happy Easter!

As promised in yesterday's post, here's my round up of cards from "time travelling through the holidays"...

First stop - St. Patty's Day. I made this card for the "Yellow and Green" challenge over on Simon Says Challenge, using a "Lily & Milo" stamp from Rachel Anne Miller. I had the *worst* time trying to take a picture of this card. I don't know if all the green threw off my camera's settings or what! I bought this stamp in St. Louis along with the printed paper. I love that paper so much I hated to cover it up, even with Lily. :-)

Next up - Thanksgiving. This card started off as a partially finished project from an SU! stamp club meeting I attended with a friend. I performed some major rehab, adding some printed paper in the process. I almost always include printed paper in my cards now - I think it adds a lot of interest. The original card was also "naked", so I added an American Crafts button tied with Scrappers Floss as an embellishment. Scrappers Floss is great!! It's made from paper and very thin so you can thread it through buttonholes - no needle needed!

Next stop - Christmas. I'm behind in the monthly Christmas Card challenge over on Splitcoast, so I needed to come up with a quick card to help me get caught up. This little cutie is from the Christmas Collection of digi stamps from Grab A Doodle Do. It's hard to see in the photo, but this striped paper is glittered, giving the card a little "extra" without having to add another layer or embellishment. I love sitting in my craft room for hours playing with all my embellies & papers but sometimes you need something cute & quick!

Whew! Like Peter, I did finally arrive back at Easter. Here's the make-n-take we did at the crop yesterday, which uses the Happy Easter set from TAC. I love the collection of coordinating buttons & paper and felt flowers in the "Lemonade" Buttons & Blossoms embellishment boxes! It made it easy for everyone to find a coordinating button & flower.

Happy Easter! Blessed Passover!

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge

Gina K has all kinds of challenges on her new Stamp TV website. I made this card for the most recent sketch challenge:

I love springtime pastels! I am ready for winter to be OVER! I had a lot of fun coloring this card. (My favorite thing to do!)

Supplies: Tilda with Lamb (Magnolia), greeting and Easter stamps (retired TAC), Copics, Prismacolor pencil with OMS, ribbon from HL.

Hey Chick!

Another "two-fer" challenge card. I used the sketch from Tracy's Sketchy Thursday challenge and colored in my images with Prismacolor pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits) for Challenge #3 over on Gina K's Stamp TV. The chick is a "digital stamp" that I created from a sketch. I'm working on a whole family of Easter chicks, including a baby brother chick and a mama chick all dressed for Easter.

Here's a close-up of the chick:
It's been damp and rainy here the past two days with cold weather coming back tomorrow, so it was fun to make a bright and cheery card. Now, if only spring would come back to stay - soon.

Supplies: printed paper K&I Memories, pink brads - Making Memories, computer generated sentiment (Comic Sans font), Marvy circle and scalloped circle punches,Prismacolor pencils and Mona Lisa odorless mineral spirits, ribbon from Michael's, Making Memories Slot Punch kit, pop-dot.
